Dr. Dee played a key role in fostering community engagement and strengthening relationships across students, faculty, staff, and the broader community. She helped cultivate greater cultural awareness and inclusivity, allowing all participants, regardless of ancestry, to honor African heritage.
Through her leadership, we developed academic programs, leadership cohorts, cultural centers, and wellness circles that aligned with and elevated our institutional values. Her efforts led to the founding of the Black Psychology Project and the Center for Black and Indigenous Praxis, which continue to offer powerful spaces for self-discovery, collective resilience, and the honoring of ancestral wisdom.
Over the past 10 years, these initiatives have profoundly impacted countless students, equipping them to lead and serve their communities with purpose. We didn’t just meet our goals; we exceeded them, year after year.
